Animal Microsomes & S9

Microsomes are a valuable tool for studying the metabolism of your compounds and for examining potential drug-drug interactions. Celsis IVT prepares animal liver microsomes and S9 fractions from a variety of species, including:

  • Mouse (ICR/CD-1)
  • Rat (Sprague-Dawley, Wistar, and Fischer 344)
  • Guinea pig (Dunkin-Hartley)
  • Dog (Beagle)
  • Rabbit (New Zealand White)
  • Minipig (Yucatan)
  • Monkey (Cynomolgus and Rhesus)

In addition to pooled microsome and S9 produced from control laboratory animals, we offer fully characterized, pooled microsomes and S9 from Sprague-Dawley® rat tissue that has been treated with different chemical enzyme inducers, including the following:

  • Aroclor 1254
  • b-Naphthoflavone
  • Clofibrate
  • Dexamethasone
  • Isoniazid
  • 3-Methylcholanthrene
  • Phenobarbital

Storage

Animal liver microsomes and S9 must be stored in a mechanical cryogenic freezer below -70°C to guarantee the preservation of cytochrome P450 enzymes.
